Brent's Mom

(Picture)
I am fortunate to have a wonderful mother-in-law who raised such a good boy. I know he gets his patience and concern for other people from her. She is always willing to answer our medical questions and we are always willing to listen as she is a very, very smart woman and a great nurse. Seth really enjoyed the last time she came to visit and we're all excited for her to come again! Happy Mother's Day Lynda!

Mother's Day

We continued celebrating mom's birthday on Mother's Day with everybody. The kids sang a song and some performed talents.
Mom has always loved music, dancing, etc...She always made music a part of our lives and had it in our home. She would lead choirs at church, as well as other musicals. She put together a dance festival and many other cultural events. She used to sing on the radio with her sisters when she was younger and they always sing at our family reunions.
She got her love for music from my grandmother who could really jam on the piano. She used to play the piano for silent movies by watching the screen and playing a song that would go with whatever was going on in the movie. They are two great women that I have been blessed to have in my life.
Amy also made a video of a bunch of pictures taken throughout mom's life and with each grandkid. It was so good and she did a great job!

Mom's Birthday

All eight of us and our spouses went out to dinner for mom's 70th birthday. She looks great! It was a lot of fun to get together and not so crazy since we left the kids at home. Janet and I had to bring the babies though, but they're easy.

Manny

Seth and I met some of the family at the Brevard Manatee's game the other night. It was freezing cold but we had a good time. Even Seth, even though it looks like I am forcing him to take this picture. He finally got over his fear of Manny and wanted to follow him everywhere. Dan said he saw Manny making a praying motion for the kids to leave him alone. It comes with the costume buddy!
Seth always makes me laugh and this night was no exception. It was freezing and he started taking off his jacket. I asked him if he was sure he wanted to take it off because he would be cold and he said, "No I won't". Well 2 minutes later he comes doing his little dance and saying, "All right! Time for some more jacket partay!" He really did not want to admit that I was right and thought he would play it off. He cracks me up.

Easter

Seth says that Easter is one of his favorite holidays, along with Christmas, Halloween, and his birthday. It's fun to get a visit from the easter bunny and see how excited the kids are. Seth wanted to leave out a cup of juice for him. He drank it all and left some fur in the cup.

We've told him the story of the atonement and resurrection before and figure in the coming years he will understand more and more the true meaning of Easter.

His shirt is disgustingly dirty but that's what he was using as his napkin at the time.

Brent's dad and his little brother and sister came to visit us from Georgia this past weekend. We had a good time and made a stop at the Orlando Science Center.

Elder Thompson

My nephew, Matthew, left on his mission for our church and he's serving in Chicago for two years. I lived with my sister Marilyn and her family during my first year of college and loved being able to spend time with Matthew and Kelsie. He's a cool kid and I know he will be great as a missionary. He was excited to go despite the serious looks in the pictures. :)
No. I'm not pregnant. I'm hoping it's just the angle.
